With their second win over Columbus last week, the Industrial Cobras softball team positioned themselves as the district front-runner. The Cobras have already locked up a playoff spot and with games against Edna, Rice, and Hallettsville remaining, if Industrial wins over Edna and Rice, they will win the district before the final game at Hallettsville.
The Maidens have rolled through district and have also grabbed a playoff spot. Who wins the district is still up for grabs. The Maidens are in front but with games against Shiner and Weimar remaining, Ganado still has work to do before they hoist the district crown.
Edna will face Industrial, Columbus, then Yoakum to finish the season. The Cowgirls currently sit in fifth place.
