Ybarra breaks state squat record

The boys state powerlifting meet was held last week and all three Jackson County schools had lifters attend.

Ganado led the way with Noah Ybarra and Bryan Martinez finishing third and fourth respectively. Ybarra set the state squat record in the

148 class.

Industrial lifter Garrett Kolodziejczyk had the highest finish for the Cobras and Edna’s lone lifter, Octavian Lara, competed in the state unequipped meet.

2A-Ganado

148 class: Noah Ybarra, 3rd, 585 squat,

305 bench, 525 deadlift,

1,415 total.

165 class: Bryan Martinez, 4th, 540 squat,

320 bench, 510 deadlift,

1,370 total.

3A-Industrial

132 class: Cameron Medrano, 15th, 405 squat, 240 bench, 380 deadlift, 1,025 total.

148 class: Jayden Kemp, 10th, 480 squat,

335 bench, 460 deadlift,

1,275 total.

198 class: Morgan Mader, 20th, 525 squat,

435 bench, 500 deadlift,

1,460 total.

242 class: Garrett Kolodziejczyk, 7th, 585 squat, 450 bench, 515 deadlift, 1,550 total.
