Last week, the AEP Texas Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to the Texana Arts Council to expand access to arts and cultural activities in Jackson County and its surrounding areas.
“We are deeply grateful to AEP Texas for their generous support of the Texana Arts Council,” said Shelley Lee Srp. “Their contribution helps us continue bringing meaningful arts and cultural opportunities to the community.”
The Texana Arts Council was founded in 1992, and from its inception, the Edna Theatre has been the centerpiece of its operations. The building required extensive restoration, and in 2022, the Council acquired the theatre to continue restoring it as a space for the arts.

AEP Texas awarded the Texana Arts Council with a $10,000 grant, to help bring more programs and access to the arts and cultural activities the TAC has to offer.
The Council’s mission is to bring arts and cultural programming to local residents while also preserving the region’s heritage.
The AEP Texas Foundation grant will support the Council’s ongoing restoration efforts and help create meaningful cultural experiences for the community.c
