On Jan. 18, Ganado police officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of E. Putnam Ave. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered the cause of the disturbance was a male subject identified as Richard Ambrosio Rubio, age 40, of Palacios. It was discovered Rubio had a criminal trespass warning issued to him for this residence. Additionally, Rubio was found to have three outstanding warrants for his arrest on charges of Criminal Mischief >= $750 < $2,500, a Class A Misdemeanor, Assault - Strangulation, a Third-Degree Felony, and Attempted Arson of a Habitation, a Second-Degree Felony. Rubio was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespass, a Class B Misdemeanor, along with his outstanding warrants. He was booked in at the Jackson County Jail.
On Jan. 21, Ganado police officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of N. Second St. in reference to rapid gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male subject, identified as Misael Cortes-Herrera, age 55, of Ganado, had fired multiple rounds in the air with an AR-15. No injuries were reported. Cortes-Herrera was taken into custody without incident and charged with Deadly Conduct, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was booked in at the Jackson County Jail. On Feb. 2, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of S. Third St. for a moving violation. During the course of the traffic stop, an occupant within the vehicle provided false identifying information, believing they had warrants. Officers discovered the occupant’s true identity after the conclusion of the traffic stop.
Warrants were issued for the subject on the charge of Failure to Identify - Give False/Fictitious Information, a Class B Misdemeanor. The subject has not yet been taken into custody.
On Feb. 6, officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of S. Second St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered the cause of the disturbance was a female subject who had assaulted a family member. During the course of the assault, a small child was placed in danger. The female assailant was taken into custody and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury - Family Member, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Endangering a Child, a State Jail Felony.
The subject was booked in at the Jackson County Jail.
