The UIL released the district alignments for the 2026 through 2028 school years. Although Industrial and Ganado are facing minor changes, the Edna Cowboys are not only changing districts, they are also moving to Region III.
Edna and Palacios will enter District 11, and they will be joining Wharton, Sweeny, Hempstead, and Columbus. State Champion Yoakum and Hallettsville have left the district but Columbus brings a state championship followed by a six-point semi-final loss last year to State Champ Yoakum. Also joining the group is Sweeny (5-6) and Wharton (6-5), schools who dropped from 4ADII. Rounding out the district is Hempstead (19) and Palacios (2-8).
Residing in Region 3 district 12 is Franklin, Lorena, Liver River Academy, Rockdale, Cameron Yoe, Rockdale, Troy, and Caldwell.
3A-DII remains the same for Industrial.
Their district remains Tidehaven, Rice, Wallis Brazos, Boling, East Bernard, and the Cobras. Ganado remains in the same district but with Shiner jumping back up to 2A-DI the district, and region, got much more difficult.
Shiner (15-1) has been to back-to-back state finals and they join Ganado (11-2) with legitimate State Championship ambitions.
Schulenburg has left the district but Kenedy (103), Weimar (8-3), Flatonia (5-5), Bloomington (4-6) and Danbury (3-7) return.
The 3A volleyball and basketball district 24 consist of Edna and Industrial along with Boling, El Maton Tidehaven, Palacios, Sween, Van Vleck, and Wharton.
The 2A volleyball (District 27) and basketball (District 28) consists of Bloomington, Danbury, Flatonia, Ganado, Louise, Shiner, and Weimar with Yorktown also joining the basketball district.
