On Dec. 13, Ganado police officers witnessed a two-vehicle crash in the 1500 block of South Third Street. Occupants of both vehicles sustained minor, non-lifethreatening injuries. The at-fault driver was identified and found to be driving with a suspended license and had prior convictions for the same offense. The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. An arrest warrant was later issued for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions, a Class B misdemeanor.
On Dec. 18, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of U.S.
Highway 59 South Feeder Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Tina Dawn Frausto, age 47, of Palacios, was found to be in possession of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine following a vehicle search. Frausto was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 (<1 gram), a state jail felony.
On Dec. 22, officers responded to reports of a road rage incident on U.S. Highway 59 North involving the display of a firearm. The suspect vehicle was located, and firearms were seized following an on-scene investigation. The driver was released pending further investigation. After follow-up with witnesses, an arrest warrant was issued for the driver on the charge of Disorderly Conduct – Display Firearm, a Class B misdemeanor.
On Dec. 26, Ganado police located a subject with outstanding warrants in the 200 block of South Fourth Street. Rafael Torres, age 40, of Ganado, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2 (<1 gram) in a Drug-Free Zone, a third-degree felony.
On Dec. 30, officers responded to a disabled vehicle on U.S. Highway 59 South at the Lake Texana Bridge. The driver, Reno Anthony Hall, age 48, of Houston, was suspected of being under the influence. A search of the vehicle revealed a substance suspected to be methamphetamine. Hall was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 (<1 gram), a state jail felony.
On Dec. 31, officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of West York Street for a registration violation. During the course of the traffic stop, Officers conducted a vehicle search and located a substance suspected to be cocaine. The driver, Trent Deshawn Mangum, age 42, of Van Vleck, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 (<1 gram), a state jail felony.
On Jan. 10, while providing security for an event at the Hafernick Center, officers responded to a disturbance that was quickly diffused. Jacob Rene Galvan, age 26, of Blessing, was identified as the cause of the disturbance and found to be intoxicated.
Galvan was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Public Intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor
