Estate Planning 101 Clarified in 2026

Author J.K. Rowling allowed character Albus Dumbledore to declare that “To the next well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.” Hopefully, for all Jackson County Retired School Personnel, he spoke the truth, but to aid with our difficult acceptance, JCRSP leaders have invited Attorney Ashley Tegeler Kleiman to offer some basic advice on estate planning.

The local Ganado honor graduate earned degrees from Texas A & M and South Texas College of Law. She will offer JCRSP advice and expertise when she speaks on January 19, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church, 900 W. 3rd St. in Ganado at 11:45 a.m.

Estate panning typically involves several legal documents and considerations, but by planning ahead, one can provide “clarity and peace of mind for your loved ones during a difficult time”.

Join the active JCRSP organization for a new year of “learning more to do more” when you attend the initial 2026 meeting being hosted by Salley & Fred Rickaway, Keith Bridges, Diane Bubela, Melody & Donald Egg, David Grewe, Cindy Janica, Susie Pape, Barnell Rawls, Shirley Schmidt, Mary Spacek, Donnie Tegeler, Frances Toman and Lou Ann Tupa.

Offering a new year invocation will be Keith Bridges while the pledges to our country’s and state flags will be led by Jonel Knuppel.

The delicious catered luncheon will begin at 11:45; be sure to RSVP to Kathy Johnson (361-781-4004). This meeting provides the group the opportunity to fulfill an initial January 2026 goal of action: “Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one!”
