WHAT DOES THE BIBLE S
AY?
Jesus made it plain: “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.” Yet many still ask, “Is baptism really necessary?”
In the New Testament, no one was ever considered saved before baptism. Every conversion, from Pentecost to the Ethiopian eunuch to Cornelius to Saul, follows the same pattern: belief leads to repentance, repentance leads to baptism, and baptism marks the beginning of a new life (Acts 2:38; 8:36–39; 22:16).
To say baptism is unnecessary is to treat Jesus’ words as optional. But faith without obedience is not real faith (James 2:17-26). Baptism is not a work that earns salvation. It is the moment chosen by God when we receive what we cannot earn (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-7).
God has promised forgiveness, cleansing, and new birth to those who obey the gospel in faith (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:26–27). The question is not, “Is baptism important?” The question is, “Why delay obedience to God?”
If you’ve never taken that step, consider what’s at stake.
Jesus stands ready to forgive, restore, and transform you. The invitation is open.
The water is ready.
The only remaining question is: Are you?
