UIL announces realignment numbers

The UIL announced their realignment numbers concerning classifications for the 20262028 school years.

The UIL uses the high school enrollment numbers to determine which classification schools will be placed in for their UIL activities.

Football has their own numbers and then the rest of the sports have their numbers.

The new realignment number for football for 3A-DI is 367549. Edna’s enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year was 432, so Edna looks to drop into the same classification.

3A-DII’s numbers are 246-367. Last realignment, Industrial had 343 students, dropping them from 3A-DI. Once again this year, Industrial will be close to the barrier between 3A-DI and 3A-DII.

2A-D1 enrollment numbers are 175-246.

Ganado had enrollment numbers of 216 last time, meaning unless the numbers climb quite a bit, Ganado will remain in their classifications.

2A-DII numbers are 105-176.

With football being the only UIL sport broke down into Division I and II, the other sports are arranged just by classification, with no sub-divisions.

The 3A numbers for these sports are 246-549, meaning both Industrial and Edna should remain 3A.

The 2A numbers are 105-245, meaning Ganado should also remain in 2A.

February 2 will be the day the day the UIL announces official enrollment numbers for each high school in Texas.
