Chamber Chatter

Happy November.

This month, we’re celebrating gratitude, community spirit, and the continued success of our local businesses. Thank you for being a part of what makes Jackson County thrive.

Congratulations to the winners recognized at the 2025 Chamber Banquet — Business of the Year: STX Archery & Outdoors, LLC; Citizen of the Year: Shelley Srp; Agriculture Award: Shane Sklar – El Toro Farms; and Beautification Award: Texana Arts Council. Each of these honorees represents the dedication, hard work, and community spirit that make Jackson County such a special place to call home. Congratulations to all.

Do you think you’ve got the biggest buck or hog in Texas?

Prove it. Registration is OPEN for the Best of Texas Big Buck & Big Hog Contest. Entry forms are available at local contest sites, the Chamber Office, or online www.jacksoncountytexas. com . Whether you’re aiming to trophy your next big buck or take down a hog, this contest is your chance to shine. Stay alert on our website or on Facebook for up-to-date information. Questions? Reach out to the JCCCA at (361) 782 7146.

Have you heard of PINK FRIDAY? Pink Friday is a nationwide event that encourages shoppers to support local and small businesses before the big box retailers take over during the holiday season. It’s held the Friday before Black Friday (November 21st). Each of these honorees represents the dedication, hard work, and community spirit that make Jackson County such a special place to call home. Congratulations to all!

Here’s a friendly reminder to support our amazing local businesses— and one of the easiest ways to do that is with Chamber Bucks.

Chamber Bucks can be purchased in any amount and work just like a gift card at over 25 participating businesses throughout our community. By choosing Chamber Bucks, you’re not just buying a gift— you’re making an investment in Jackson County.

The goal of this program is simple: encourage everyone to SHOP LOCAL. Every Chamber Buck spent stays right here at home, helping our local economy grow and thrive. Stop by the Chamber office to purchase yours today. Let’s keep Jackson County strong—one local purchase at a time.

The JCCCA will be closed for Thanksgiving from November 26–28 so our staff can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Looking to share a special message with the community? For only $5, you can display your announcement on the Chamber’s LED sign—a great way to catch attention. We also offer affordable weekly and monthly rates for ongoing promotions.

Members, if you’re active on Facebook and have news, events, or promotions you’d like us to share, just tag us in your post or email the details to [email protected].
