On Tuesday, November 4th, STX Archery and Outdoors hosted its first-ever indoor archery competition, the Tuesday Night Showdown. The event drew 45 archers from across the region, all eager to test their skills and see who would claim the title of top shot.

Competitors were divided into two divisions — Juniors and Open — with targets set at 9 meters for the youth archers and 18 meters for the open class. Each participant shot 10 ends (rounds) of 3 arrows each, for a possible perfect score of 300 points.

The Junior division came down to a nail-biting finish between Riley Berger and Brielle Brzozowski, with Berger edging out Brzozowski in the final “Throwdown” round to claim the win.

In the Open division, the top eight scorers advanced to the Throwdown under the bright lights and spotlight. Conner Geohring emerged victorious, followed by Weldon Bowers in second place and Taylin Myers in third. Impressively, all three podium finishers — along with the Junior champions — were under the age of 18, a clear sign that the next generation of archers is ready to take aim at the future.

Owner Donny Harris shared his excitement following the event, announcing that the Tuesday Night Showdown will evolve into a monthly Saturday Night Smackdown. “Gear up and get ready for the next one,” Harris said in a Facebook post, hinting that the competitions are just getting started. Harris and his dedicated team at STX Archery and Outdoors have built more than just a range — they’ve created a community.

The facility welcomes not only hunters but also target archers of all levels, fostering a family-friendly atmosphere. A special area with 9-meter targets was added to give young archers a place to train for 4-H competitions and other youth events.

Capping off an already exciting week, STX Archery and Outdoors was recognized as Jackson County’s Business of the Year, a well-deserved honor for a business that’s hitting the bullseye in both community spirit and local development.
