Defensive stops by Turner and Jayron Barnes kept the pressure on. A punt by West Oso was caught and fumbled and recovered by West Oso. Moments later, Bryant intercepted a pass in the end zone to stop the drive. Floyd connected with Zaevion Normon, who dragged a pile of Bears for a big first down. Another pass to Norman gained more tough yards. Aidan Lugo broke a tackle and outran a group of Bears for a touchdown, making the score 40-0 Starting quarter four, West Oso scored a touchdown however the kick was no good putting the score at 40-6. With the clock running continuously the cowboys didn’t get a chance to score again ending the game with another big win for Edna with a score of 40-6.

When asked about the defensive performance, Phoenix Robertson said “The defense definitely set the tone for the win. I think the defense played physical despite playing a team that was not physical. There’s still a lot of things we need to work on, but that was a defensive game for sure and it felt good to win.” He continued “Coach Matt Trujillo reminded us at halftime that every game is an opportunity to improve yourself and push yourself towards a level of excellence.”

Trujillo, said “The defensive line did a great job of making plays in the backfield and disrupting the entire offensive operation. The secondary also did a fine job of creating turnovers.”

Edna will play Palacios at home on Friday for their last district game. Barring an Edna loss or an Orange Grove loss, the Cowboys will enter the playoffs as the third seed.
