The Jackson County Hospital District has a new marketing coordinator, Judith Barefield. She’s been in the hospital world for 25 years at Victoria’s DeTar Hospital, so stepping into Jackson County will be a breeze.
She described how she heard about the job: her sister went to a Mahjong party and sat with the hospital’s HR director. They ended up talking about Barefield and urged her to apply.
“I’m excited to be here, I want to introduce myself to the county,” she said. Barefield has been slowly reaching out to everyone just to say hello.
She will be be responsible for advertising, public relations and general communications.
“To me, this community really supports each other, I’ve never seen so many people comment on social media about things,” Barefield said. “Things are moving fast here. The hospital recently acquired the Ganado Medical Clinic, and they’re breaking ground on another clinic as well.”
So be sure to say hello to Judith if you get the chance to meet her.
