Needing another district win to keep a chance to win the district title, Edna traveled to Mathis and brought the power on both sides of the ball as they won 48-12.
The Cowboy offense began quickly as Trevor Floyd sandwiched a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown around a Mathis interception made by Jadale Barnes.
Facing a 21 point deficit entering the second quarter, Mathis started moving the ball and got inside the Edna 10 before Jordan Bryant pulled in an interception who ran it to the 45.
On the same drive, Maverick Robertson took the handoffs and added another touchdown for the cowboys, who carried a 27-0 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter Aiden Lugo showed what he could do as he scored on a pass reception from Floyd and then scored again on a run.
Mathis finally got on the board when, after a long kickoff return, they found the endzone, but failed on their two point conversion attempt and the game moved to the fourth quarter with Edna holding a 41-6 lead.
Both teams added a touchdown in the fourth quarter and Edna left with the 48-12 win.
Edna (3-3, 2-1) will host London (3-3, 2-1) on Friday, October 17, at 7 p.m.
