Texana Fest now bigger than ever

Edna, and in essence, Jackson County, will come alive on Saturday, October 18, as the Texana Arts Council and the Edna Business Association team up to host Texana Fest 2025, free to the public. What was once an evening of fun for the past two years, this year the festival is expanding into a full afternoon and evening in Edna on Main Street.

The most important thing to happen that day will be at 7 p.m., where the historic Edna Theater marquee will be relit… permanently. A short ceremony will mark the milestone at that time, which will honor the theater’s place in history.

Festivities kick off at 3 p.m., when the street will be closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant zone, filled with vendors offering farm-fresh goods to crafts, and community groups raising funds and celebrating with giveaways. Plus, food trucks will be available and parked downtown all day.

And don’t forget, it’s still about the vintage car, truck and motorcycle show. The awards ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. Entry into this event is donations only and all are welcome.

Kids will be able to enjoy themselves too: bouncy houses, games, sidewalk chalk art and booths offered by local non-profit groups will be around for some fun.

Four bands will perform during the afternoon, giving a musical soundtrack to the day. Jeremy Ryan, Johnny Gonzalez y su Conjunto, Double Barrel Band, and Hit-N-Run will perform, while. A headline performance by the Chris Zuber Band will lead the street dance, which will last until midnight.

Texana Fest gives thanks to their sponsors: Lavaca Navidad River Authority, Trestle Works, H-E-B Helping Here, Prosperity Bank, and the City of Edna. Due to them, the festival is free to the public.

So mark your calendars for Saturday, October 18, to celebrate Texana Fest filled with music, history, fun and neighbors coming together.
