Local authorities search for missing person

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Texas Rangers and Edna Police Department spent multiple days last week searching around the intersection of Mexico and Cedar streets in Edna, in search of a missing person.

Jackson County Deputy Derrick Bermea stated they were “conducting and extensive search operation involving ground teams, K-9 units, and assistance of local and state partners “ “At this time,” he said, “all search efforts have focused on recovery.”

The office said it is withholding further information to preserve the integrity of the case and respect the families involved, but that there is no danger to the public and the missing person is not local.
