The following are the new Edna teachers for the 2025-26 school year in alphabetical order.
Kaelyn Aldrige, from Ganado, graduated from Ganado High School. She is currently enrolled at the University of Houston in Victoria for her teacher certification program, and will graduate in May 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (EC6). She most recently worked as a daycare teacher at Here We Grow in Ganado for almost two years. She will be completing a co-teaching residency with Ms. Betty Leister as her host teacher in fifth grade math.
Esmeralda Andrade, from Edna, received her bachelor of science in criminal justice from the University of Houston in Victoria. She was a Pre-K teacher at Palacios ISD for eight years. She will be a bilingual teacher for grades Pre-K through fifth grade at the elementary school.
Elyse Bauerle, from Edna, earned her bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies from Texas A&M University, and a masters of education in administration from Lamar University. She most recently served Region 3 as a secondary RLA Specialist, and will teach English 2 at Edna High School.
Shannon Beaird, of Columbus, earned her education at Texas State University, and most recently taught art and ceramics at Ganado Secondary. She will be teaching art one through four at Edna High School.
Heather Black, of Lolita, received a bachelor of applied arts and sciences in communication studies from West Texas A&M University, She was a paraprofessional for six years with Industrial ISD and three months as a seventh grade science teacher for EJHS. She will be teaching seventh grade English at EJHS.
Japhus Brown, from Edna, graduated from Edna High School and Texas A&M University. He was a paraprofessional for four years at EJHS, and will teach Achieve for EHS, grades nine through twelve.
Jenna Buzek, of Palacios, studied at Texas State University. She most recently was at Calhoun High School for six years, teaching special education and the girls athletic coordinator, head volleyball and assistant tennis coach. She will be at the junior high teaching special education and coaching head volleyball and head tennis.
Skylar Chreene of Inez, earned her associate’s of applied science from Victoria College, and a bachelor in business administration. This is her first teaching year, she will be eighth grade science, plus the high school assistant volleyball coach and basketball coach.
Jamie Dixon, from Ingleside, earned his masters and bachelors at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. His most recent teaching position was at Blanco High School as AD and head football coach. He will do the same for Edna.
Heather Edwards, of Edna, received her associates degree in elementary education, and she is working her field experience for college to earn her bachelors degree next June. More recently, she’s been teaching at Edna Elementary for 10 years as a paraprofessional.
Kamryn Elliot, from Edna, earned her bachelors at Texas A&M and her masters at Texas Woman’s University. For the last seven years she’s been a Region 3 ECL as a speech therapist, and she will do so for the special education co-op.
Manny Freeland, of Edna, received his masters of education at Wayland Baptist University. He was the athletic director for Louise ISD for three years and will run the high school ISS.
Alyssa Garcia, of Edna, received her education from Schreiner University and taught for Region 3 ECl for two and a half years. She will be with ECSE.
JJ Jennings, from St. Joe, Missouri, earned his education at the University of Missouri, and his M.ED from the University of Texas at Arlington. He last taught and coached at Victoria East and will be teaching sixth grade history and coach for EJHS.
Lacey Juroske, of Beeville, earned her bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies. She’s been a first grader teacher for nine years at Aloe Elementary, and she will be the third grade ELAR.
Shelby Keith, of Edna, received a bachelor of science in education at the University of Houston in Victoria. She was a teacher intern in kindergarten for a year at EES, and will teach third grade math at EES.
Shawn Kendrick, from Fulton, received his BSE at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She was a substitute teacher for a year, and spent three years as an SEL at Edna Elementary. She will teach fourth grade social studies for Edna Intermediate.
Raelynn Najera, from Raymondville, earned her bachelor of music education from Texas A&M Kingsville. She taught for two years at Giddings ISD as the associate band director. She will be the assistant band director for sixth through twelfth grade.
Kayla Perez, of Weslaco, attended Weslaco High School and is on her last year at Texas A&M University in Victoria, formally known as UHV. She will be teaching third grade ELA for the Edna Primary School.
Billy Ramey, of Killeen, earned his bachelor of science at Howard Payne University. He was the George West High School head boys’ basketball coach and taught DAEP. He will be the head boys’ basketball coach and teach special education for the junior high.
Elise Ramirez, of Victoria, earned her bachelor of science in core subjects EC-6. She taught for two years at Smith STEM Academy as a first grade teacher. She will teach second grade RLA for Edna Elementary.
Kylee Ressman, of Edna, earned her education at Victoria College and the University of Houston in Victoria. She will be teaching seventh grade science for EJHS.
Michael Schrader, of Katy, received his bachelor of science in economics at Texas A&M, and his masters in finance at the University of Houston. For a year he taught at Fort Stockon ISD as a math teacher. He will teach math at the high school level.
Priscilla Smith, from Lytle, attended Texas A&M Kingsville and earn a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science and a minor in plant and soil science. She was a kindergarten teacher at Aloe Elementary for three years. She will be a pre-kindergarten teacher for Edna Elementary.
Micah Swanson, of Houston, earned a bachelor of science in exercise sport science from Wayland Baptist University. Swanson was a physical education teacher at Louise ISD for two years, and will teach at the high school level: principles of construction, and principles of health science.
MaKenna Thedford, of Edna, attended Gracelyn University, and was a paraprofessional for eight years at Edna Primary. She will teach kindergarten at Edna Primary.
Chelsea Tully, from Katy, earned her bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies at Houston Baptist University. She taught at Sudan Elementary as a first grade teacher. She will teach fourth grade RLA for Edna Intermediate.
Garrett Tully, from Boerne, earned a bachelor’s from Houston Baptist University, and was the head baseball coach, assistant football coach, and taught world history for two years. He will teach ninth grade world geography at EHS and be the head baseball and assistant football coach.
Bill Williams earned his bachelors from Angelo State University in 1986, and taught three years at Travis Middle School: Texas history, world cultures, and leadership. He will be teaching U.S. History for eighth grade at EJHS.
Bridget Wood, of Victoria, earned a bachelor of science in communication disorders at Stephen F. Austin State University and a master of science in communication disorders at Texas Woman’s University. She was a speech language pathologist for 10 years at Victoria ISD, and will do the same for for the Edna Primary School.
