The Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is investigating a horse theft in Jackson County after three stolen horses from Ganado were located in Victoria County.
On August 1, the Ganado Police Department asked the public to help locate the animals, which had been taken from a Ganado pasture.
The next day, the department updated, saying the horses had been found, and were in the custody of law enforcement.
“The stolen livestock have been successfully located in Victoria County and are now in the custody of law enforcement,” the post said. “Arrangements are being made for their return to the rightful owners. A suspect has been identified and the investigation remains active. Due to the specific nature of the offense involving livestock theft, the case is being handled by a Special Ranger with the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.”
TSCRA Special Rangers in Texas are peace officers commissioned through the Texas Department of Public Safety.
