Ganado police reports

On July 21, Ganado police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Hwy 59 N. near FM 710.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Keondrae J. Delaigle-Thomas, 22, of Carrollton, Virginia, and Peyton David Driggers, 22, of New Braunfels. During a roadside investigation, officers located a substance believed to be cocaine lying in the grass near the vehicle. It was discovered Driggers had discarded the suspected cocaine during the traffic stop. While detained, officers discovered both Delaigle-Thomas and Driggers had hidden additional contraband on their person. The contraband was suspected to be tetrahydrocannabinol resin (THC). Both Delaigle-Thomas and Driggers were placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2, less than one gram, a State Jail Felony and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Third-Degree Felony. Driggers was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1, >= 1 gram < 4 grams, a Third-Degree Felony. It was also discovered that Delaigle-Thomas had outstanding felony warrants out of Virginia for Armed Robbery. Both suspects were booked into the Jackson County Jail. Delaigle- Thomas was later extradited to Virginia on his outstanding warrants.

On July 26, Ganado police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Oberg St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. During the investigation, they determined one of the involved parties had interfered with the victim’s attempt to call 911. The subject was identified as Jose Roberto Palomares-Ramos, 33, of Ganado. Palomares-Ramos was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on the charge of Interference w/ Emergency Request for Assistance, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On July 27, Ganado police responded to the 100 block of S. Third St. in reference to a vehicle that had struck the awning of the Ganado Dentist Office.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the motorist who had struck the awning had left the scene. Shortly thereafter, officers located a vehicle with damage consistent with the damaged awning. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Luke Russell Bearden, 23, of Ganado.

During the traffic stop, officers gained probable cause that Bearden was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Additionally, officers gained probable cause that Bearden was the motorist who had struck the awning. Bearden was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated and for Duty on Striking Fixture/Hwy Landscape >= $200, both charges are Class B Misdemeanors.

On July 28, Ganado police responded to US Hwy 59 S. near CR 270 in reference to a reckless 18wheeler driver. Officers located the 18-wheeler and conducted a traffic stop.

The truck driver was identified as Angel Javier Herrera- Coronado, 36, of Juarez, Mexico. During a roadside investigation, officers gained probable cause Coronado was operating the 18-wheeler while intoxicated. Coronado was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail on the charge of Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B Misdemeanor.

On July 31, Ganado police responded to the 300 block of E. Mauritz Ave in reference to three horses that had been stolen. Upon taking the initial report, Ganado police referred the case to a Special Ranger with the Texas Cattle Raisers Association. Ganado police and the Ranger worked jointly on the case, and after a thorough investigation were able to locate the stolen horses in Victoria County. A suspect has been identified and warrants for Theft of Livestock < $ 150K (x3) have been issued for the suspect’s arrest.

On August 2, Ganado police responded to the 600 block of N. Fourth St. in reference to Criminal Mischief. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unknown person(s) had thrown a cinder block through the back windshield of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of N.

Fourth. Officers have since identified a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.

*** All suspects have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
