District Court Docket Highlights July 31, 2025 Judge Julie Bauknight Presiding Jose Miguel Salazar, of Edna, had his case reset for a future date. Salazar is accused of the murder of his girlfriend Jasmine Ramirez in October of 2024. When arrested, Salazar was on probation for Assault Family Violence with Previous Conviction, and faces the revocation of that probation in light of new charges. Salazar is in custody of the Jackson County Jail and did not appear in the courtroom.
Melissa Ybarra Manzanalez, of Edna, is charged with Injury to a Child - Recklessly, and Endangering a Child - by Omission. She is the mother of Gerald Lee Manzanalez, who was convicted on July 15 of Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child and Attempted Indecency with a Child. Melissa Manzanalez was reset to appear on October 2.
