District Court Docket Highlights July 31, 2025 Judge Julie Bauknight Presiding Jose Miguel Salazar, of Edna, had his case reset for a future date. Salazar is accused of the murder of his girlfriend Jasmine Ramirez in October of 2024. When arrested, Salazar was on probation for Assault Family Violence with Previous Conviction, and faces the revocation of that probation in light of new charges. Salazar is in custody of the Jackson County Jail and did not appear in the courtroom.
Melissa Ybarra Manzanalez, of Edna, is charged with Injury to a Child - Recklessly, and Endangering a Child - by Omission. She is the mother of Gerald Lee Manzanalez, who was convicted on July 15 of Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child and Attempted Indecency with a Child. Melissa Manzanalez was reset to appear on October 2.
Andrel Longoria IV, charged with Attempt to Commit Murder, made his first appearance on the docket after being arrested in May. Longoria is accused of threatening and attempting to murder his ex wife. He will reappear in court at a later date. Longoria is out on bond.
Former Ed a ISD coach Logan Allen O’Connor, accused of Online Solicitation of a Minor, Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student, and Sexual Performance of a Child, appeared briefly before receiving a reset order from his attorney. He will appear at a later date. He remains out on bond.
Leonardo Martinez Baez, of Ganado, who is charged with the 2022 murder of his wife, was reset for a future date. He is in the custody of the Jackson County Jail and did not appear in the courtroom.
Justin Brody Martinez, of Edna, was sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, enhanced based on prior criminal convictions.
