Studio Seven invites you to Disco & Diamonds
Put on your sparkles and get ready to dance disco and get glowy at the Studio Seven Aesthetics party, Disco and Diamonds, on Friday, July 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at their space on 123 East Main.
Co-owners Kristen Pierce and Chelsea Slusher have shared their excitement about the event, and it’s Slusher’s introduction into the aesthetic world after obtaining her esthetician license last week.
Open since December, Studio Seven has operated under Pierce, who’s been in the aesthetic industry for seven years. Pierce, a Nurse Practitioner born and raised in Victoria, worked a variety of jobs before finding her purpose and passion.
“I wasn’t saving lives, but it was cool to connect with women on another level and help them feel more confident, and I fell in love with that mission,” she admitted. “Prior to opening Studio Seven, I was working for Sciton where I traveled nationally to train doctors, nurses and estheticians on how to properly use the company’s lasers and achieve optimal results.”
She said after seeing so many different spas in all types of cities, Pierce really admired the small-town spas. Feeling inspired, she leaned on Slusher—who was simply there for support at the time—to discuss the idea of bringing something unique to the heart of Edna. The two immediately began to manifest the idea into something real.
Studio Seven Aesthetics became big enough that it will now be open full-time and Pierce is looking to move back from Houston.
Slusher’s story to Studio Seven is a little different. She was in cosmetology school 18 years ago, but stopped when her now almost 17-year old son came into her life. Instead, she entered a dental assisting program, which is, as great stories go, how her and Pierce first met while working for an orthodontist in Victoria. Pierce trained Slusher, who ended up staying a decade.
“Kristen left the dental world when she was accepted into nursing school, but we stayed the best of friends through all the stages of life,” Slusher recalled. “Much later in life, I began working for the USDA FSA office in town for a couple of years when in early 2025 I received an opportunity I couldn’t say no to.”
Through President Trump’s Deferred Resignation Program, Slusher was able to resign from her federal employee duties and attend school in Houston from February of this year while still getting paid until the end of September. After commuting every day and most weekends, she finished her last day of school last Friday, and is ready to hit the ground running with her new skills.
“It was an incredible opportunity and I took full advantage of it, it was a no-brainer and my oneshot chance to obtain my license and become a true part of Studio Seven,” Slusher said. “When we daydreamed early on, I had no idea I would be internally involved, but we always thought how great it would be to work together again.”
Faith over fear, is what Slusher said kept her going.
Pierce will be executing laser-work and injections, while Slusher said she’ll be the facial girl, to start off, and focus on skin care in general. But in being able to work with Pierce, the opportunities to expand even more are available. She’ll be able to ease into more services due to working under a Nurse Practitioner.
Which now comes to their first combined event: Disco and Diamonds, where the duo will offer exclusive event-only pricing on their services and products. Attendees will enjoy champagne, snacks, raffles and giveaways, while listening to singer Stephanie Ross.
Pierce said ZO Skin Health expert, Jana, will be offering complimentary consultations. “ZO is a medical-grade skin care line for every concern, from melasma, pigment, rosacea, acne, anything you can think of.”
There will also be a ColoreScience bar at the event. Colorescience is a multi-purpose mineral sunscreen makeup line where each and every item contains a large sun protection factor. Pierce said Studio Seven carries all the goods, from bronzer, foundations, blush, mascaras, lip gloss and more.
“I’m hoping this is a massive and exciting re-introduction to the community, and I hope we get a lot of support and people in the door, just to see this space and learn what we offer, because it’s unlike anything Edna has seen before,” Slusher said. “The environment is unmatched, it radiates positivity, and you feel like you’re in a completely new world.”
At Studio Seven Aesthetics people come for the treatments – but stay for the vibe. It is a safe space, and a girl’s girl world inside. The ladies are all about everyone feeling secure, confident and bringing their best selves out.
Coming soon, the two will launch weekly edutainment, where they’ll be sharing skin tips, product spotlights, beauty truths, and laughs.
“As your enthusiastic home-town skin therapist, I want people to know the goal is never perfection, that you’re always a work in progress, and I struggle just as others do, but we’re going to crack the code together,” Slusher promised.
And let’s be honest— who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
