Ganado Police Reports

• On May 26, Ganado police officers assisted with a traffic stop in the 200 block of W. Brackenridge St. The driver of the vehicle had been called in as a reckless driver. Upon locating the driver and vehicle, officers identified the driver as Bass R. Hernandez, 42, of Edna.

Upon conducting a roadside investigation, officers gained probable cause to believe Hernandez was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated - 2nd a Class A Misdemeanor. Hernandez was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

• On May 28, Ganado police officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. York St. in reference to someone passing counterfeit money.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered the subject had been able to purchase merchandise from the business using the counterfeit money. From viewing security video, officers positively identified the subject as Raymond Marvin Ellison III, 26, of Ganado. A warrant was issued for Ellison, charging him with Theft of Property (By Deception) < $2,500 w/ 2 or More Previous Convictions, a State Jail Felony. On June 5, Ganado officers located Ellison in the 900 block of S. Third St. and attempted to arrest him on the outstanding warrant. Ellison fled from Officers and evaded arrest.

An additional warrant was issued for Ellison, charging him with Evading Arrest/ Detention w/ Prior Conviction, a State Jail Felony.

The following day, June 6, officers located Ellison at a trailer park on St. Hwy 172. Ellison was taken into custody without incident.

Ellison was booked into the Jackson County Jail on the felony warrants.

• On June 8, Ganado police officers responded to the 600 block of S.

Third St. in reference to a car accident involving two vehicles. Upon conducting a crash investigation, it was discovered one of the drivers had a suspended driver’s license and their vehicle was uninsured. The motorist was identified as Jacob W. Schulz, 30, of Louise. It was additionally discovered Schulz had a prior conviction for driving with a suspended license.

Schulz was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid- Subsequent Offense/ No Insurance, a Class B Misdemeanor. Schulz was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

• On June 11, Ganado officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Hwy 59 S. near County Road 256.

The driver was identified as Christian B. Stillwell, 29, of Webster. During the course of the traffic stop, officers received information Stillwell had an outstanding warrant through Dallas County for the charge of Man/Del CS PG 2 or 2-A >= 1G < 4G, a 2nd Degree Felony. Stillwell was subsequently placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant and booked into the Jackson County Jail.

• On June 16, Ganado officers responded to a business in the 300 block of N. Third St. in reference to a shoplifting incident.

Upon arrival, officers were able to locate the suspect in the parking lot. After a brief interview of the suspect, officers were able to retrieve the stolen property and return it to the business. The suspect was issued a Class C Misdemeanor citation for Theft.

• On June 18, Ganado officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Hwy 59 S. near FM 710. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 13-year-old juvenile.

Along with the driver, the vehicle was occupied by two passengers. One was identified as a 9-year-old juvenile and the other was identified as Berenisy C.

Huaracha, 31, of New Caney. Upon conducting a roadside investigation, officers discovered that Huaracha was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia in close proximity to the juveniles. Huaracha was subsequently placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana < 2oz, a Class B Misdemeanor. Huaracha was booked into the Jackson County Jail. Charges of Endangering a Child are pending.

* All suspects have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
