Malek to release single

Malek to release single
Adysen Malek

El Toro native and Industrial High School graduate Adysen Malek took a leap of faith when she decided to move to Nashville to pursue her musical dreams.

“When I moved to Nashville I didn’t know a single soul,” she said.

It didn’t take long for her to find her groove, though. While she moved to Nashville to attend Belmont School of Music, she also started looking for places to play.

“I loved Belmont and college, but really, I moved to Nashville to chase my dreams and be in the amazing city of Nashville,” she said. “I am taking a gap this year and I am giving music a real shot, with the help of my label, my family, and trusting God.”

Shortly arriving in Nashville, she found a page called “Livin’ the Write Life,” by a man named Michael Cef. She didn’t know who he was at the time, but he would come to play a big part in her step toward her goals. She attended a songwriter event, and met a group of songwriters and quickly became “in awe” of the support and love they shared.

“You could feel in the room a strong sense of support,” she said.

She also discovered that Michael Cef, short for Ceferatti, was also in the process of creating a record label – Write On Records, which would become a huge stepping stone in her career.

On June 20, with the help of Write On Records, Adysen Malek will introduce her music to the world.

Her Single, “Cry Me a River,” will hit streaming services that day.

“I wrote this song floating on the Frio River with my family,” she said. I had this idea come to mind and I ended up reaching for my phone and then dropping it in the water! It’s the things you do for music.”

The next day, on June 21, at the Inez Community Center, she will celebrate with a Single Release Party at the Inez Community Center, right down the road from the El Toro Ranch she grew up on.

The show will also feature opener Kaitlyn Croker, who is also a friend and huge supporter of Adysen’s music journey.

This is a huge moment for Malek, who says she couldn’t have done it without her parents Bowen and MeLynn, and her manager, Ceferatti.

“My parents have truly supported me so much this year. They trusted my decision to take a break from school, and are always supporting my music,” she said, adding that Ceferatti “believed in my from day one.”

“My parents and Michael clap so loud I never notice who doesn’t,” she said. “I can’t imagine doing any of this without Michael, Kaitlyn, and of course my parents.”

The doors open on Saturday at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 with Croker as the opener. The bar and kitchen will be open.
