Theresa Everett

    Sad and sudden came the call, so dearly loved by one and all. Her memory is as dear today as in the hour she passed away. Theresa JoAnn Everett, 84, died May 9, 2018. She was born Oct. 15, 1933 in Rosenberg, Texas to Anton A. and Mary Surovec Kaspar.     Her mother died from childbirth complications where upon Theresa "JoAnn" was adopted by her uncle and aunt, John and Rosalie Kaspar Valigura. She graduated from Ganado High School in 1952 and later St. Mary's School of Nursing in Galveston in 1955. She had a 30-career of nursing in Galveston at St. Mary's Hospital, U.S. Public Health Hospital and UTMB hospitals.     She formerly resided in Texas City and later for many years in Austin with her husband, Bill W. Everett. In 2013, JoAnn moved to El Campo to be nearer to family. She belonged to the St. Catherine of Siena Parish and the K of C Wives Club in Austin, also KJZT Fraternal.     JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill W. Everett; daughter Joanette Gonzales; brother Anton "Tony" Kaspar; sister Leona V. Flaig; and mother of her siblings Agnes L. Kaspar.     JoAnn is survived by granddaughters Laina and Haley Gonzales, her son-in-law Mark Gonzales, all of Austin, and her sister-in-law Bobbie Everett. She is also survived by siblings Frances Vesely, Andrew Kaspar, Anges Schoppe, Marcus Kaspar, Loretta Janda and Daniel Kaspar, many cousins, nephews and nieces and dear friends.     There was a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m., on Thursday, May 10 at Ganado Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment immediately followed at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado.     Pallbearers were Nathan Kaspar, David Kaspar, Stephen Saha, Kenneth Kaspar, Travis Kaspar and Richard Carlson.     Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Ganado Funeral Home, 361-771-2120.
