Overturned 18 wheeler outside of Lolita

At 3:40 p.m.a 2016 Peterbuilt truck overturned on FM 616 just outside of Lolita. The driver, Kenneth Dale Ames, 52 from Corpus Christi, was transported to Citizens Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was involved in the accident.

"The tanker semi-was carrying crude oil," Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety said. "About 20 gallons of diesel spilled on the road, but the trailer carrying the crude oil didn't rupture. 616 will be shut down to one lane until clean up is finished."

San Miguel couldn't give an exact time when both lanes would reopen but he said he expected it to be a couple of hours more.
