TGCD board hopes voters will pass tax

The new directors of the Texana Groundwater Conservation District have high hopes that they will finally have enough community support to pass an ad valorem tax in November. The group met on July 23 to discuss possible revisions to the TGCD management rules.
The TGCD, which had been inactive since its failure to pass an ad valorem tax to fund it, has been resurrected with a new board of directors. The new panel of directors include Michael Skalicky, Pct. 2, president; Jim Revel, at-large, secretary; Bowen Malek, Pct. 1, vice-president; Robert Martin, Pct. 3; and Ray Brundrett, treasurer, Pct. 4. There are two unfilled at-large positions.
