Melecio Garcia Jr., age 57, of Victoria, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010. He was born March 26, 1953, in Ganado, to the late Melecio Sr. and Emma Figirova Garcia.
Melecio is survived by his sisters, Mary Lopez of Victoria, Monica Garcia of Yoakum, and Cynthia Alderete of Edna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Melecio was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Sammy Garcia.
The rosary will be recited Thursday, July 15, at 7 p.m., at Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Burial will follow in Edna Latin American Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Petering will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Paul Alderete, Robert Saucedo Jr., Sammy Hernandez, Fred Lopez, Alonzo Cruz and Jerry Figirova.
Honorary pallbearers are all Melecio's nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna, 361-782-2221.
