Thunder clapped after a last-innning turnaround

The Jackson County Thunder began the South Central Texas Amateur League playoffs Saturday, July 10, defeating the regular season champion Bernardo Bears 9-4 ten minutes from baseball midnight on the road, but fell to the Victoria Rosebuds 11-1 the following day in the league championship round. It would prove to be an exciting weekend.
Michael Vickery took the hill for Jackson County after they failed to score in the top of the first and showed the Bears what he had in store for them, beginning the game with two strike outs before inducing a come-backer, catching a hit that came right back to him to end the bottom half of the inning. Aided by some great Thunder defense, Vickery held the Bears hitless through the first four innings, but the game remained scoreless as the Thunder were also held down by the Bernardo hurler. Jackson County looked to break the deadlock as they mounted a rally in the sixth, but they failed to cross the plate despite loading the bases...
