No support for another lake
 (Posted 7/6/2010 02:33 pm)
Dear Patrick [Brzozowski] and LNRA board of directors,
The purpose of this letter is to submit the Jackson County Farm Bureau’s resolution regarding Stage II of the Palmetto Bend Dam.
Our organization has a strong commitment to agriculture and rural Texas and the resolution we have unanimously passed reflects our dedication to our industry, our environment and more importantly, our people.
As the LNRA moves forward with their current feasibility study and any other research-gathering efforts that might follow suit, we ask that you keep in mind these groups. It is our worst fear that an irreversible decision is made before we have looked at every option available and our board does not believe we have even come close to reaching that point.
We hope to be a partner with you in looking for alternative plans to satisfy the water needs of our county and state, but we will not support a decision that includes an additional recreational lake in Jackson County.
In addition to your organization, our resolution will be sent to many interested government entities, associations and groups that appreciate the Farm Bureau’s view on topics as important as this one.
Jerome Roszypal, president
Jackson County Farm Bureau
