Thunder drops a couple

The Jackson County Thunder traveled to the Bear’s den in Bernardo June 27 to face the league leaders in a late season double header. Thanks to several untimely defensive miscues, the Thunder squandered two great pitching performances and dropped both games to the Bears by scores of 6-4 and 10-4.
Game one began under the hot sun at 2 p.m. as both teams were held scoreless in the first. The Thunder got on the board first with an Aaron Peters walk and a Glenn Sparkman RBI double in the top of the second. The Bears quickly tied the game with the help of the Thunder defense, committing a two out error which led to an unearned run. After Bernardo took a 2-1 lead in the third, the Thunder wrestled it away in the fifth on an Aaron Garcia two-run homer to left field. Unfortunately, the lead was short lived as the wheels came off for Jackson County in the bottom of the inning...
